Proper maintenance and debugging of turbines, internal combustion engines, compressors, and pumps require precise alignment measurements of the rotor, crankshaft and camshaft bores, cylinder bores, and ten-head guides.
CENTRALIGN Ultra RS5 is a laser alignment system designed for measuring and centering the holes and internal components of rotating machines, such as bearing rings, diaphragms, nozzles, inner casings and turbine casings with open or closed tops. This system provides a more convenient and accurate alternative to the traditional methods of measuring and centering using piano wires, micrometers and cumbersome telescope-type theodolites.
The CENTRALIGN Ultra RS5 measurement method uses a laser transmitter: the laser transmitter is installed at one end of the machine, and the laser beam passes near the center of the hole. After that, the laser beam will be regarded as the measurement baseline. The sensor is installed in the hole, and we will use the patented universal pointing bracket to measure it.
After that, the accurate centerline of the hole is determined by simply rotating the sensor and holder head inside the hole. The sensor records the position offset relative to the laser beam and sends the measured data to the ROTALIGN Ultra computer. The computer processes this information based on the size of the machine to calculate the exact centerline position. When using a long-distance laser, the distance between the laser and the sensor can be up to 50 meters.
